Winter Camel
What do you do when you come up with a photo idea at about ten p.m? Well, I was obviously not going to be able to sleep on it, so I went out to Husby Gård to see if I could realize my idea to let Camella play in the snow a bit. The shoot was done with constant fear of having to explain to someone what I was doing. "Just playing with my camel, camera I mean..."
I guess I should work up some kind of excuse that I'm doing this as an art project. That sounds like a plan. "I'm just using this toy camel to experiment with lighting, composing scenes and macro photography."
"You wouldn't understand it."
For this shot I wanted a kind of bright dreamlike look. Setting the lens to 2.8 gave me the shallow depth of field I wanted. Getting snow to the edge of the frame was another matter. I had to run back and forth for a couple of minutes, scooping up the half-inch snow and putting it so that the background would be a nice blurry white.
