Robot With Child

This robot stands just outside the entrance to the U2 subway station Museumsquartier. There was no explanatory plaque or anything similar. I can only assume that the robot is on their way home from the Roboexotica festival[a]. Or maybe the little robot isn't a child, but the robot equivalent of the Oscar statue[b].
