Hospedaje San Antonio

After everything I had heard about Peru, I was sure going there meant that I'd be robbed, beaten, drugged and stabbed - and that's before the plane had landed. Writing this a couple of days later, I can confirm that I am un-robbed, un-beaten, un-drugged and un-stabbed.

The inner courtyard and staircase of the hotel. Like many places in Miraflores (the name literally meaning "see the flowers"), it is almost covered in bright flowers.

This was the view from the room I stayed in. I tried some selective color on this image to make the pink walls stand out (yes, they are really pink in reality).

What I did experience was this wonderful little hotel near the edge of Miraflores. It is not a luxury hotel, but you get a nice, clean room, a very nice bathroom with warm water, and some good sleep - and all of that without paying luxury hotel rates. The hotel manager sometimes arrange little gatherings in the reception area of the hotel - we had a little pre-New Year's Party get-together on New Year's Eve.
