Pebble Beach is a place for people who play golf. And who can afford to buy a house there, of course. Given the success of the Pebble Beach Golf Club, I'd guess those two groups overlap to a significant extent.

But pretty soon you get to see the sanctuary. The "Restless Sea" as this place is called has rock formations stretching out in the shallow water, making the water foam far from the shore.
