Adam Donnerstad, One Year Later
About a year ago I came across a memorial to Adam Donnerstad, a fifteen-year-old who committed suicide by jumping off the south end of Västerbron. The site, right where Västerbron reaches Långholmen, is a very nice place with a fine view of Norr Mälarstrand down toward city hall. I walk past there regularly, and have seen the memorial become covered by snow, thawed again, and by early September - gone. However, the night to today, two days past the one year anniversary, there were again candles burning at the site.

This time I completely skipped the historical preservation misson. Right after his death there were reasons to preserve a record, but now, a full year later, I'm assuming those close to him[a] do it if they want to.
