The show starts with everyone getting a chance to learn how to "shake it, Hawaiian style": Hula! (Everyone without a Y-chromosome, that is, as they only teach the women's moves. Unless female, remain seated.)
Once the amateurs have finished dancing, the pros take over.
While the women do the "rolling hips", the men do a dance similar to a Maori war dance, if you've seen that.
A couple of hulas later we get the fire dance. The men have double-ended torches (think two torches connected bottom-to-bottom, or a flaming Q-tip).
