Thai Spice

Downtown areas, especially those with no historical value, tend to end up in a vicious circle: There is no cultural value there, so buildings are either torn down and replaced with others with no cultural value, or just left to rot. The area behind Corpus Christi Marina is one of those seemingly sterile areas, and it was therefore a pleasant surprise to find the Thai Spice restaurant at Water Street. Short summary: Great food and great service at great price.

Great food and great service at great price at this little cozy thai restaurant. (5/5)

I ordered the red curry chicken. The presentation of the food was excellent. It was nicely served in a hollowed-out coconut, with a thin layer of coconut meat left on the inside. The taste was great, and even though it was listed with two peppers out of three, I would recommend it to people who, like me, like their food with flavor more than heat. The coconut meat provided a mild contrast to the curry, keeping the experience from degenerating to a long burning sensation.

The interior decoration is soft and suitable for dinners (and lunches, of course), without bright lights and a warm, dark palette.

Parking is available behind the restaurant. It is wheelchair-accessible, with a ramp leading up to the entrance from the parking lot and enough space between tables to roll.
