Before making Moonrise, Granholmstoppen II, I went to Granholmstoppen to get a sunset panorama. Then, it just sat there on my hard drive until today. The reason was simple: these panoramas are about half a gigapixel, and the 16GB RAM I had made editing them in Photoshop something like Photoshop-by-mail - you'd set off a process, wait five to ten minutes, and then come back to do the next step.
With Moonrise, Granholmstoppen II, I suffered through the process, because I had to find out if I had managed to capture the photo that I had been trying for so long. But after completing that one, I was also thoroughly fed up with having my efficiency meter i Photoshop hover around the single digits. So I went out and got another 16GB, and suddenly I had both the means and the motivation to finish this panorama.
