So I packed my bags and took the train down to Zagreb to see my cousin Leon get married.

Randomly useful websites, mostly used to assemble a coherent image of what happened:

  • The Croatian-English (and English-Croatian) dictionary at Korlex (www.rjecnik.com)[a] was quite useful in deciphering the other websites in this list.

  • Google Maps is good for Zagreb, and they've even managed to put little Kvarte on the map, but is still lacking outside of Zagreb. Yahoo maps shows most areas outside Zagreb as a blank void. But the local company Mireo[b] has a good online map server. You can go to their website and navigate to the maps (bonus points for doing it in Croatian, unless you speak the language), or go directly: Last I checked the online maps were available at this url[c], although with the raw IP URL I don't expect it to remain there.

  • Finally there's the Croatian White and Yellow Pages[d]. use the dictionary above to figure it out.
