If you ever pass through San Luis Obispo, do drop by the Madonna Inn[a]. Just exit the 101 freeway at Madonna Road. If you are southbound, you just go straight ahead at the intersection where the ramp ends and you're there.
What's the big deal, then? Well, the Madonna Inn has the most non-uniform design of any hotel. Each room has a different interior - they have a room decorated like a ship's cabin[b], one looking like a cave[c], and so on.
