The water from the Trigrad river falls down a 42 meter waterfall right down the cave. It is said to be the inspiration for the story about Orpheus descending to Hades to find his beloved Eurydice. The cave is likely to have a complex series of underground streams, as no object that has been dropped into the water has made it to the river exit, although dyes that have been injected into the water exit after about 1.5 hours.
