The Neptunbrunnen[a] (Neptune Well) was originally built in 1891 at the Schlossplatz. When the Berliner Stadtschloss[b] (The Berlin City Palace) was demolished it was removed from that spot. In 1969, after having undergone restoration, it was put in the place it occupies today.
