Americans

Europeans have a lot of preconcieved notions about Americans. Fact is that few of us have even met an American in real life, and our beliefs are based on what we see on TV. (Which, interestingly enough, is one of the notions we have about Americans - that they believe everything they see on TV.) Cowboy-hat-wearing, gun-toting, fundamentalist christians - you name it, and we believe them to be so. Despite the prevailing belief in Europe that Americans conform to our stereotypical cariature of them, I can say that there are people "over there" with sensible beliefs that are, well, "normal like us".
Somewhere.
I haven't found them yet, but these are the Americans I know.
